The Dome was a video I made for a squatted office building in Amsterdam West, that was used by the local residents as a mosque. I tried to accentuate the confrontation of modern techniques with traditional cultures. An animated projection on the ceiling shows a starry sky which slowly transforms into a pattern, typical of the inside of a dome in a mosque.
The mosque continued to be used as a place of worship throughout the exhibition.
