in Oslo

The Golden Handed One in Oslo is an installation in which nostalgia meets glitch. Oil paintings based on dowry crochet are suspended from a painted line in JOTUN 5180 Oslo, a colour code chosen for the associations carried by its name. Above them, a tablet plays a looping video of the sea, in which the artist’s eyes stare into a field of pixels and back at the viewer. On either side, two near-identical images of the artist’s hands — caught between clapping and praying — echo the visual language of social media feeds.
Installation with oil paintings, tablet-based video, sound, printed/digital images, and painted wall element. Variable dimensions.
